MP-01 and MP-10 Optimus are now considered outdated and replaced, but both those figures were associated with Optimus for so long that it became part of his iconic look to me. Toynami Voltron is another example; Chogokin GoLion is now the best Voltron toy, but the Toynami one was such a big deal over a decade ago is still eels particularly notable.
ToyBiz Marvel figures also have a lot of these to me. Mcfarlane and SM2 Spider-man were botht the best Spidey figures ever for a long time.
