>>8252893That looks really good, I think. Can't wait to see the full assembly. As for the tanks, it's easy to stitch the tracks down. It's joining each assembled track unit to the body. Have to go through a narrow slot cut in the body lower side to stitch it, then it's stuffed, and the slot is closed, to then stuff the body. You can see the long narrow slot in the piece here, to the right of the assembled top. Haven't cut it open yet, or joined the tracks in. Lots of fiddly small tight corner work, and hand-stitching. End result looks good and stands without splaying, but getting there is a PITA.
Kitty's boot support is a non-woven stiff interfacing most commonly used to line the bottoms of purses. It's formable and stitchable. That's the outer structure, and inside that is reinforced piece of buckram (like for making hats) with a length of boning that goes up into the boot body. Very strong, very stable. All that is covered with Minky. Doesn't allow for ankle movement, but makes it easy to balance when posing, and she can stand upright.
