That was bothering me so much because....may be this is autistic but i think if you cut spring in half it will mean your Trypticon toy is damaged and incomplete.
Even one super serious collector that has few hundreds of transformers said me to cut springs in half.
Why?
Seems like you can just work the spring out or even replace it with other spting.

When i will get my trypticon and if he will have bad legs i will just work the spring out.
