>>7837369I don't know why it became popular to bash Generations Wheeljack, but I took mine out of storage recently and he's still a great fuckin' toy. Absolutely stellar articulation and a sick-as-fuck alt mode, the likes of which we never see anymore, and his exhaust pipe-into-wrench trick is still some of the cleverest shit a retail toy has pulled off to date, and he even has storage for both wrenches in bot mode, too. I suppose if you're going to nitpick details like his height or some elements of accuracy, then you can make him out to be a bad figure, but there's no way in hell he isn't the best non-MP G1 Wheeljack.
And I'm in the camp that thinks Earthrise legit looks like hot garbage. He's just a mess of compromises for the sake of the other bots that will use the mold, but really, my biggest problem is that he has no identity. Every Wheeljack toy I own reghardless of how "outdated" it is, still has something going for it, whether it's a unique aesthetic, or just something clever or fun like the aforementioned wrench/exhaust pipes. Earthrise Wheeljack's claim to fame is just "being a worse version of the MP", and his legacy is simply waiting to be replaced by the next, slightly-improved geewunn wheeljack Hasbro puts out, just like Seige Prime is already old news. It's an insta-pass from me, but I guess not everyone looks at toys like that.
