>>6374232From what I hear, inner frames have gotten simpler mostly because there just isn't much demand for detailed frames. Bandai's inner frame detail pretty much peaked around the release of MG Astray (remember when Bandai used to mold details inside the parts?), and then they just dropped off and started focusing more on articulation and making the outside look good instead.
It's sort of unfortunate, but it does make sense. Very few people ever bother to display the inner frame since it takes a ton of painting to make the details pop. May as well cater to the majority and focus on the parts people can actually see.
