doom mod anon here, gonna get back to making sprites from
stud.io renders, trying to decide right now what characters i want. My primary focus is on Mars Mission stuff with the rest supplemental.
Here's what I have so far:
https://imgur.com/a/jjYD1XWI can't decide if I want classes or for the characters and starting weapons to be cosmetic and for weapon pickups around the map that just reskin to your team (eg. if you're an alien and you pick up an Astro rifle it becomes the alien staff, vice versa) or maybe even have different viewmodel (sprite) arms depending on your character (eg. if you're an alien and you pick up the astro rifle you see green arms holding up the rifle, my other option is to just not have arms at all on the guns like Goldeneye so it's not a problem having to account for every character, unless people dont care about consistency but it would bother me)
tldr should I make the characters unique or cosmetic and just add a shitton and not have to worry about balancing starting weps (cuz like why play as a melee-only robot when you could be an astronaut with a rifle, or make that robot able to have the same weapons and it doesn't matter and is just for fun)
also here's the characters i do and don't want so far, if you don't like licenseshit don't worry, the starshit characters would be a separate .wad file up to the owner of the doomseeker server to include or not
I already have the Classic Spaceman done since that was my test character
