There's not a ton of on-screen time for the turtle van in the original cartoon, and getting a rear shot along with turtles in the picture for size reference is likely in very short supply. When gathering reference photos I can guarentee they pulled this shot up.
Not only because it's one of the few opportunities for rear van + turtle size reference, but also because it appears to have influenced multiple decisions on necas final product
