>>11503707Ramer's Hunter tank is the closest thing we'll ever get to a Classified series MOBAT. The original MOBAT came out at a weird time where the US's current MBT was facing replacement and there was rampant speculation about what would replace it. The Mobat is based on an experimental tank that ultimately got passed over, and so was the Mauler which replaced it (the HSTV). Ultimately the US's next MBT ended up being the M1 Abrams, which was sort of the basis for the Patriot Grizzly.
I don't think Hasbro would want to do something that's the same size as a tank that's already on the market, because they the Haslab projects are meant to be a flex. I think when we do get a GI Joe tank they'll go with the Mauler. A 1/12 M1 Abrams would be way too big for most people to display, and the MOBAT would not be impressive enough, so the Mauler is right in the sweet spot, plus it has two armored seats for the driver and commander plus a hatch for the gunner up top. It would make for a very impressive display environment without completely dwarfing the HISS.
