Its so weird to me to think a bunch of sentai mecha got brought over here before Power Rangers. Even weirder that it seemed to make no real impact and by the early 90's since Bandai's best selling toys before Rangers was chalk. Saban's attempts to bring over Sentai back then constantly failing was probably a big factor. Dubbed liveaction and Japanese toku in general was considered sort of cheap and tacky back in the 80's since toku had a history of being B-movies and broadcast filler in the 60's and 70's, which was unfortunate.
