Got around to combining brutcus today. Mixed feelings about him. Unlike their devestator who despite his flaws was a solid combiner which I enjoyed. I went into this expecting them to have learned their lessons from him and release a product that would be superior to him. Sadly he's two steps forward and two steps back.
It's a real chore getting him balanced in this typical A stance when compared to his predecessor. While they improved the shoulder connections vs dev the knee connectors are a mixed bag. While brawl is nice and secure due to his arms pegging in around the tabs on swindle there's nothing to secure them. I used some paper to make pegs connect a little tighter and they seem to be doing the trick for now. I just don't understand it. There's some pegs and holes on top of swindle in limb mode. Why they couldn't have had some holes and pegs on the knee joint for them to plug into and make it more secure I'll never know.
I think this is going to be my last Zeta purchase. While the combined mode is impressive the combination of the individual bots being so mediocre and the stability issues of bruticus himself I'm just not as satisfied as I was with Devy. Their Superion appears to be more of the same so I'm gonna just sit back and wait and see how FT version turns out.
