Masking is not as tedious as I thought but so far I'm only doing the easy layers, pic related is a bit outdated as I'm now finishing masking the black layer before the first macro pattern in white.
I'm thinking, a bit late now as the green is sealed tho, in doing smaller squares and creating a secondary micro pattern. Think of a QR code in big cloud shapes to complement the big ones

For example it makes vallejo model color (the golden olive in pic related for example) tolerable to airbrush but not at tamiya level that I used afterwards in the next layer. I had a fresh comparison of both and tamiya is just so fucking tard proof that it's hard not to prefer it overall for airbrush.
Ammo always shoot well for me even without thinning so I'll keep using acrylic to thin so I don't have to deal with the hassles of lacquers but was an interesting experiment and in my case it will make model color an option to shoot again.
