Little fun autistic observation others may not care about, this HG evolved godzilla is definitely based directly on that one piece of concept art with the weirder proportions. There are other toys like the playmates that probably also got that art and altered the pose and made it look kind of weird and gangly, and that was responsible for the initial negative reaction to the design, but i actually really like how it looks here since they just straight up copied the art almost 1 to 1.
