I got some old train motors in a lot recently and I wanted to make use of the 4.5 volt motors, because as I understand it, as lomg as I have a battery box to power them, they can run on my 9 volt track. I bought a battery box and some connectors on Bricklink. The connectors both have this plastic pin in the middle, while the battery box does not have a whole for that middle pin. One of my motors has a spot for the plastic pin and one does not. Can someone explain the design change to me? Is this to prevent me from using this connector on this old battery box? Can I just cut off the plastic pin and use the connector?
