From what I can remember, his hips were not fun to use at all. IIRC they plugged vertically into his crotch, so they were not capable of simultaneous up-and-down and side-to-side movement, the joint had to be manually rotated to work on each axis. This was solved on later Revos by pointing the pegs back toward the butt, in an L-shaped configuration, which allowed you to swivel and ratchet at the same time. All the stuff around his hips, like the armor and swords and belt tails and plating, was also kind of bothersome, and some fell off while I tried to work with his legs (though I can't fault Yamaguchi for this, it's just the design).
That said though, he is still a wonderfully expressive figure with those big crazy eyes and fantastic range of motion. He's probably one of my favorite Yamaguchi sculpts, if his joints were updated to AY standards I would call him a 10/10.
