>>6300205This robot-y dude is neat and I think I'll probably end up buying him as a tall menace for my 6" figures to fight, but I just looked up the source comic and I'm pretty bummed out at how the movie designs look in comparison. The comic has such a great look to it, really iconic old-school sci-fi with a ton of charm. I think it honestly could have looked great with the right designer at the helm, with all the aliens done traditionally with makeup and costumes only, and of course, those amazing white jumpsuits.
The movie designs look so god damn bland. Horrible casualties of "me too" concept artists who all design alike. And I know this all too well, I went to school with and trained alongside their kind for four years. Most of them can draw and paint well, but their design sense is incredibly narrow-minded and deathly boring after you see the same aesthetic on the wall 500 times.
