The catch is that at the size she is the overlaying parts are very small and there are a good few of them. Her leg armor for instance is 10 pieces over her thigh and around 10 more over her shin and knee, even though the majority is one large piece.
That said, I'm a fucking animal that rarely even opens instruction manuals when building a kit, so I can understand how my experience might be different.
