>>9720589>they saw the way the market was moving towards 1:12LOL, how would they see that? What 1:12 toylines were selling that much in 2011 and 2012? Fucking Mattel with their constantly bombing and revamped lines? uhhhmmm.... maybe some TMNT... but those were 5"? McFarlane and their halo line.. oh wait, 1:16 scale. Walking Dead? Nah, 1:14 and this was a collectors line selling in the mid-50k range. Masters of the Universe Classics? Oh no, not in 2012, cuz the line was being sold at Big Lots at 80% discount. Seems like 1:12 was a dead scale in the early 10s, huh?
Where was Hasbro "seeing" the market moving towards 1:12 if there were no 1:12 lines to watch?
Did you even see the link i posted, about how their Marvel and GI Joes lines were selling like gangbusters? Even their GI Joe line was selling better than expected.
Hasbro's actions were made to gain more revenue because they couldn't rely just on movie sales. When they didn't have Transformers movies to push BIG sales with cross over marketing, revenue/profits always went down, no matter how much sales were coming from other series like Marvel movies.
Hence their creation of the Black Series and sabotaging their MU line to grow ML sales, because selling a toyline for $20 is twice as much as $9.99. Nevermind that collectors would be forced into buying ALL their favorite characters all over again, especially with Star War.
>Not everything is part of some grand conspiracy to ruin toy collectingNo one said anything about this.
Simple fact of the matter is that Hasbro literally sabotaged 1:18 to resell you your favorite characters 2x the price for dat sexy investor enticing growth in revenue.
