the Netflix version is "based on" the anime version, so there are differences. enough to enrage the anime fans. go read some other essay about those differences, I'm not going to do it here
the circle argument is that Netflix would not have done it without the anime having first been so popular, so stepping over the anime to do Netflix version Lego sets, instead of the original anime version, is slightly insulting (to the original core fans)
having said that, I've only seen the Netflix version, it was great, and I'm glad it's getting Lego sets.
