One day, the yellow dwarf star of his solar system of threatening to expand and boil all the water off, so the fairly advanced monoids gathered material and built Phobos-sized ships that would have enough power to pull the planet away to a farther orbit.
However, the sun was expanding at a fatal rate. In a desperate reach, they converted many of themselves into robotic bodies and stowed the rest in stasis tanks, fleeing towards a system with a more efficient sun.
Then, a leading ship got infected by a gigantic mass of flesh, which would slip into the ship and use it as a body, rebirthing itself as a primitive god, killing the stabilized monoids and sending the mechanized ones away into the void of space.
Malockus was one of them, eventually landing on the Earth's moon.
