However, unlike Mezco's, the clothes on NECA's figures are extremely cheaply made. I posted an example earlier about how flimsy and poorly made the clothes is, because those dolls that NECA is making are supposed to be "MEGO" quality. Cheap stitching, oversized, ill fitting. Chintzy as fuck on purpose.
They use one of the most basic bodies you can find. So generic it makes Mattel's DCUC line look good, who is known for using the most inappropriate bodies.
Again, and this is very important, NECA uses those dolls to gauge popularity to see if the license is worth making an action figure of, because action figures are much more expensive to produce. Again, everything that needs to be produced for a doll can fit on a single mold. An action figure needs 3-6 molds. The molds are the most expensive part of producing toys.
