So, now that I've more or less finished my Susanowo (
>>10682125), I've decided to start on Strarf. Her main body's done, but her armor and other weapons will have to wait until next weekend at the earliest. Gotta say, though, I'm loving her so far - she's a definite upgrade to the original in every way. More flexibility, a far better likeness to her artwork than the old one, better looking pigtails, less sallow-looking skin, and an actual ass instead of the old Hank Hill rear the old one had going for her. I also find it charming that they went out of theri way to mold in a lot of the old details from the original toy onto her even though they're technically no longer needed, like the fake screw holes on her back and the outline of the detachable shins (which now just pop off like her thighs and arms instead of sliding off). I also really like that she comes with holsters for her grenade launcher and hand cannon this time around (the latter of which I have attached to her in pic related) - one of my big gripes with the old Arnval and Strarf was that there was no way to attach or stow all of their weapons to them when not in use.
Weirdly, she's almost half a head shorter than her original toy (but still a full head taller than an MMS 3rd Small), but I like it - Fumikane's original art pitch for her back in 2010 made it clear she and the original Arnval were supposed to be much more petite than what we got, anyway.
Can't wait to actually build her mech suit, though like with Souen, I'm not looking forward to the decals (and unlike Souen, I can't get away with not using them at all here - Strarf's got some very distinctive markings that are fairly noticeable on her black armor), but that's a task for another day.
