I recently bought an airfix plane and a whole bunch of enamel paints and I feel like I made a big mistake on the paints. From looking up online beforehand I had read that enamels were better in terms of leaving brush marks, colour and final coat appearance. It all seemed good and the sales person confirmed everything when I was asking them about the paints. Sadly I am really struggling with them. I've tried having a tiny bit of thinner on the brush, having a little thinner mixed in, lots of thinner and so on. Everything leaves very clear strokes, everything I try doesn't apply well at all to the model except for a thicker layer of paint which is what I've done, and its honestly looking pretty bad. I'm honestly quite disappointed and feel like I should just cut my losses and go buy acrylics. Also, I live in a small apartment and despite my efforts to vent I am getting headaches each time I've been painting. Any advice here for a complete novice?
