Really depends on the kids and parents to be honest with you. I have two cousins around the same age (both in elementary school), one only cares about phones, expensive clothing, parties and all the things older teens give a fuck about, the other loves toys, imaginitive play, asks me to watch cartoons with them and is always happy to tell me about their favorite fictional characters. They're barely one year apart but act and think completely different. Different families, different children.
It's true that most kids these days get iPhones early though, I'm pretty sure I saw several articles saying iPhones and iPads are what kids wanted the most (as xmas presents) since 2015.
