How is only focusing on contemporary space equivalent to what I'm saying? You're fighting an argument I'm not making. Trying new things is fine, but it's not the same thing.
Ice planet and space police are part of Space, which is the Sci-fi Space line ostensibly, whereas spaceport is the somewhat contemporary one.
They're both legitimate, but they're not the same thing. If I liked Ice Planet 2002 and wanted a revival of it, the current mars sets aren't going to fill that void for me because it's "also space related".
