>>6426835You're right, the sculpts are good. Like you, I wasn't sure about fixing the paint apps. I also saw them around the time I'd just paid the ever-increasing property tax bill, and was in one of those thrifty moods where buying two figures with bad paint didn't feel worth it. Some paint slop on the waist, feet, or arm? Not that big a deal. But on the face, or if they have pug eyes? I agree the lack of single packs was frustrating. I'd love to buy a couple more Vipers, but not when they come with the Iron Grenadier I already have two of.
>>6427076>Thsoe figures you posted? Those have less articulation than GI Joes. No wrists, no waist/torso. They're $13.Which company stipulated the articulation amount, Hasbro or Marvel. Don't Star Wars figures have swivel hips because Lucas wanted them? There must be licensing costs as well for SW and Marvel figures. Also, it seems Hasbro produces the majority of retail 1:18 figures currently. I wonder how that affects their pricing strategy. Who do they compete against?
>Getting factories, labor, marketing, etc requires resources from Hasbro, and the costs of doing business is pretty damn high.Still, they seem to be doing pretty well, as pic related shows. Is it the chain of Hasbro/Paramount Retaliation screw-ups that turned retailers off from stocking GI Joe figures? An ensured sell out is good, but like other convention exclusive manufacturers, they knowingly make product in limited runs that will have more demand than supply. When there's currently available options for customers/potential customers at retail that's fine. Doing it when there's little to nothing for average fans seems a bit in bad taste.
Also, there's no need to resort to childish insults. We can have a mature, respectful discussion, right?
> Everyone here is a fanboy. Speak for yourself, I guess. Maybe this is a side effect of making exclusive "collector oriented" figures; it fosters a division among consumers.
