I've avoided a lot of the NECA Alien releases due to some bad experiences with the Alien Warriors back in the day. But, when Target had that 25% off coupon, I couldn't resist picking up the Dog Alien as it just looked like such a cool figure.
I love it! The detail is awesome (I absolutely love how they did the dome, it looks soooo dang good) and the figure is way bigger than I was expecting. The chestbursters are a cool addition too! Couple stiff joints, but I was careful not to force anything and to have some hot water on-hand. Everything moves nice and smoothly now, with good, tight joints. Very fun to pose.
I'm having some trouble getting it into a good looking pose on all fours, though. I've tried copying NECA's promo shots, but I just can't seem to get it. I think I might not be bringing the head back far enough, but I feel like I'm already pulling it as far back as it'll go.
Also, I can't get him to close his mouth all the way. Seems like that wouldn't be possible since the inner mouth is there, but one of the promo shots has the mouth fully closed. Not a big deal at all, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
Did manage this three-point pose though, which is super stable (I was even able to lift the forward arm and have the Alien stand on just the legs) and looks totally awesome to me. The bendy tail works fantastic too, it's great!
