>>7469897>youget anime accurate designs with some of the figuresI'm gonna say let's back up for a second here. The A.N.I.M.E. series (which was touted as a great bastion of screen-accuracy) is great overall, don't get me wrong, but I don't really feel like they tried very hard to capture the essence of the anime. The proportions and styling still feel too modern on the majority of the figures, and I see little attempt to make them actually look as goofy as they did in 0079. I would have loved figures with stupid squashy looking faces and weird gawky proportions, simply because of how DIFFERENT it would have been.
We have a billion RX-78 figures and kits. This was Bandai's chance to make something really special and different, and they chose to play it safe.
