As one of the 7 people that posted in the Model Railroading general it's basically impossible to keep the thread up for more than 30-40 posts with the two week bullshit in place. Even stuff like the Gunpla general or /smg/ barely hit 200 posts before they need to make a new thread after 2 weeks, and other threads like the Customs thread are long gone too.
All this did was make it harder for more niche topics to thrive and only made it easier for the larger generals like the Lego and Transformers generals to take up a good chunk of the board (And before you start saying I'm complaining that some toys are more popular than others, I collect Lego and Transformers too despite those generals devolving into dogshit).
Honestly, I bet that the whole "Lego Mocs Thread" thing that's caused so much splintering in the Lego threads recently to the point that there's 6 fucking generals up right now (Not even counting the other 4 non-general lego threads) is just the Necrobumper's newest shtick. Instead of flooding the board with undying threads that he bumps constantly, he's flooding the board with already popular generals that he knows other people will bump for him. He's done it with the Lego threads, it's been happening for ages with /tfg/ and GoAnon, and now it's happening with the Marvel/DC threads too.
