the state of current transformers is simultaenously the most collector focused it ever has been and also the worst cost-to-plastic ratio it's ever had. if they had dropped tidal wave, magmatron, or half the g1 updates that we're getting now back when deluxes were still $10-15, we'd all be a lot happier. but instead they wasted everybody's time on "reinventions" and a flood of movie toys nobody not already in the fandom cares about. i can appreciate the quality of older stuff but at least we get characters who actually look like themselves now. too bad it's all shrunk to shit and more expensive than inflation could ever account for. i sure do love core class stuff still though
