Got my Natayanagi Eva. Everything I ever wanted out of a modern Yamaguchi Evangelion figure. Except the pricing, but I get it since this is some wacky variant not many people want to buy. Which is part of he problem, if this was a normal EVA-01 and they can distribute cheaper through quantity and mold reuse, easily among the top Evangelion toys. This one is basically a normal 01 when you pop off the side armor bits on the legs.
This 01 is also using some of the "new joints" Yamaguchi tweeted a while back, the ball joints here and there are hard plastic pieces instead of being part of the sculpt. The 6mm ball hinge joint is new too for some reason. No ratchet joints like other recent releases. Most surprising part were the arm fins, very very soft plastic. Paint is very nice, good use of metallic and matte colors. The Natayanagi weapon is so fantastic, an art piece on its own (well because it really is).
My one gripe is the weapon holding hands are opened wider than usual, making previous Eva weapons useless. Some bigger weapons from bigger toys works fine so not the end or the world. Also closing the hands with heat might make them compatible.
I wish we'll see some regular Evas like this soon, the popular ones so they can go a little cheaper.
