>>8343538I'm gonna be honest: He sounds really entitled and whiny to me. That whole 'f NECA, f Hasbro, f Mattel f <insert toy company>' etc. shtick was immature and takes away from whatever point he's trying to make. I don't think he understands how bad the pandemic set back everything. Most companies are only now just starting to adapt. The stores around me are keeping things in stock well for the past two or three months for priority items like food and cleaning products. Even toys weren't that hard to come. It could just be my area though.
I don't get his points either, they all seem like something thats been a problem for years now. Scalpers will keep scalping, you can't stop them except not buying from them. Toy companies are trying to keep up with demand, and sometimes underestimate it or distribute them to retail chains, who then poorly distribute them to stores. This again has always been a problem. Most my toy interests are about 1/3 import, 1/3 retail, and 1/3 indie toy scene. The only thing that stinks for me now is shipping costs, which should hopefully get fixed by Q2 of 2021. Toys will almost always be treated as kids focused in thes states, and will usually be treated as lower priority compared to other products. If you want to beat the system, you have to learn how it works by talking to employees and keeping up to date on distributions. There are lots of tools out there to help, just have to use them. Otherwise you will be forced to buy from scalpers or online retailers that are at the mercy of whoever gets to the toy first.
