So - onto the review.
Disclaimer - these are my first too Mech figures, I am new at this and while that means I can't give a very informed opinion I might offer a unique perspective that might be of some interest to people.
So I just got myself the Diaclone Reboot DA-05 Powered Suit System Set A & B.
I got them just as some people on toy suggested on ebay, paying 120 dollars for them. They are expensive - but I chose this option as it came from a seller that was closer - meaning a quicker delivery and lower transit time.
The first thing I was surprised by was the size - they're much smaller than I had expected. I suppose I'd have been even more surprised had another poster not warned me about it.
They're very detailed, very well articulated and you can see that the guys making them have put a lot of work into delivering a quality product for consumers.
Despite my issue with one of the screws (see above) on one of them I am not disappointed.
Joints aren't very stiff ( some of them aren't) but definitely aren't loose and they hold poses well.
The pilots are very small, but incredibly well detailed and much to my surprised more articulated than a lot of toys on the market now. My only "complaint" is that they also appear to be incredibly fragile, which means they must be handled with care. Still, it is more than understandable given their size.
The set gives you a decent inventory of items with the two Mechs - weapons and two interlocking storage containers in which the two mechs can be folded and inserted.
Overall I'd say it's worth the buy - I plan on getting the other two variants ( C&D) at some point down the line although the larger models aren't really my cup of tea.
I really appreciate the modular design of the entire line though, and can see the value of collecting this line long-term, as each additional purchase can interact with other pieces in your collection, allowing for customizing and mods.
Overall I'd rate this a solid 8/10.
