>>11265406A decade earlier that would have been labeled as Audience engagement. Studios would have seen that X character was negatively received by viewers and then got to work replacing them with someone that attracted more viewers and sold more tickets.
...but we live is a bugfuck insane world
So instead the Director and crew get to work attacking the totally random nobodies and insult them. Now we have audiences negatively viewing the movie after lot liking it, and even MORE negatively viewing it since the creators are assholes that insulted them to their faces. The very people they want to attract to theater to buy tickets.
Then as Step #2, keep on going with the poorly received character as a general "Go Fuck Yourself Viewers!" and then pat themselves on the back for fighting the good fight and standing up for what is just and right...while presenting their work to the general public to give them more money.
Somehow around 2016 the film makers of America completely and totally lost the concept that making a movie and releasing it, it presenting their work 100% to the judgment of the public. They cannot insult back after that. That is fucking retarded. Their studio and livelihood depends on as many people liking and buying tickets as possible. This cannot be done by intentionally putting unlikable characters in a movie and attacking anyone who does not like the unlikable character. This should not even need to be pointed out. It's simple
>Do you want to make money?>Then only put what majority people like to see in a movie!
