>>10268019I don't get it either, Bionicle made up 25% of Lego's sales back in 2004. I think I have a theory.
Both Gen2 Bionicle and the Star Wars CCBS sets started in 2015. Gen 2 ended in 2016, and Star Wars CCBS ended in 2018. Lego gave up on CCBS in 2018. Since 2019, Lego doubled down on the brick-build characters (e.g. 76226: Spider-Man Figure).
The retirement of CCBS seems to have conceded with Niels B. Christiansen serving as Lego's CEO since October 2017. Doesn't help matters that the Rouge One CCBS sets shelfwamred, especially Baze Malbus.
Maybe Christiansen is a bit of a systemfag, given how apathetic he seemed about the technic set he held in his hand, while the person next to him has a smile on his face. Meanwhile, look at the smile on Christiansen's face when he is next to a Lego System set.
