That plane, by the way, is a tiny die-cast toy of John Thach's Wildcat from WWII. Which doesn't mean much by itself, but I dig that it even has a super small print of the "Felix-the-Cat" squadron art on it. Something about details rendered that small that fascinates the kid in me.
