>>8570171>This is why I kinda wish Image (same with Dark Horse) was a shared universe from the get-goare you stupid?
The fact that everything is creator owned means that every single creator can license their shit out to anyone. There's 230498234092384 different Image creators and each creator can choose any company that they want to produce their toys.
Nevermind the fact that a license usually costs a lot if there's multiple properties. There's a reason why Marvel sold off each of their properties seperately, because few movie studios wanted to pay for EVERYTHING. Or go look at how Japanese anime companies led to the bankruptcy of so many publishers in the US.
By licensing shit in bulk, it means you're paying a lot more for shitty junk properties because it's bundled with worthwhile popular ones. You're not ever getting a deal when licensing in bulk. There's usually the standard licensing cost for the junk PLUS the premium price for a popular property. If there's a bidding war (and there were), say bye bye to your profits and future of your company (CPM, Manga, Pioneer, and even fucking Bandai, etc etc etc)
