Lads I primarily model NYC with a dash of PRR on the side. Atlas is putting out some new runs on their diesels and I figured I'd pick up one for a non-NYC/PRR railroad in order to have some more variety besides NYC greys/blacks and PRR greens/browns. What should I go with?
>New Haven RS-3/H-16-44
I already got an FL-9 and plan on getting Rapido's Budd cars so they'd fit in with them. Problem is I already also got an H-16-44 and two RS-3s in NYC colors.
>Delaware & Hudson RS-3
I already plan my layout to be within part of New York state, and having some D&H stock would represent the eastern half fairly well.
>Lehigh Valley RS-2
The layout's main industry is a big coal mine, and having what's primarily a coal mover on the layout makes some sense too as well as cement it as being the western half.
Was also considering a LV RS-11 but those don't get made until 1956, which is also right around when the NYC went all in on diesilization and I wanna run my Hudsons.
