I remember an interview or report saying sometimes some SHF are exclusives simply because producing them at mass release will be too costly even if they sold really well. I know Metal Sonic is very detail intensive, so who knows. But on the popularity side I think he can go over very well.

Granted, a character like him would mean transparent plastic, and I know you'd have to be very careful in doing that sort of thing or else you get durability issues. Exclusive-tier for sure, but worth it. Especially if they can give stretch-out limb option parts.
