Nah it has nothing to do with that. It's a problem with the actual design, because as it is it just plugs in via a single peg.
All TFC needed to do was just include a hole in the base of the cannon, so you're able to connect it to the double-gun cannon (serving as an adapter). Alternatively they could've just included an actual adapter to allow this, not like the figure gives a fuck about partsforming.
