>>6698784>Who knows why hasbro wants to sjw-ize the joes and are adamant in turning them into superheroes.Because they *were* super heroes. They were uniquely designed one note characters with colorful outfits and specialties. They fought a constant battle with the same villains where no one really died and the statue quo never changed. Making a more "grounded" Joe series or "serious" video game will only end up being a boring and uninspired flop. You have to embrace G.I. Joe's outlandish nature and colorful characters to make it stand out from all the other boring, gritty war stuff out there.
>>6705285>Dwayne 'franchise viagra' Johnson and Bruce 'yippeekaiyay MF' WillisAnd this right here is a perfect example of why going straight and gritty does not work for G.I. Joe. They had two of the highest paid actors in their movie and neither of them actually played a G.I. Joe character. The Rock did not play Roadblock, he played The Rock with a machine gun and Bruce Willis did not play Joe Colton, he played John McClane. The rest of the cast was barely memorable and only Snake Eyes and some of the villains even remotely resembled the characters they were intended to be.
You can't ignore the craziness that made G.I. Joe popular, you have to embrace it and then pump it up to eleven. You take the stereotypical character archtypes and build characters around them. You forego straight military uniformity and give each character their own unique look and role. You embrace the wacky, corny, outlandish and cartoonish nature of G.I. Joe and make it fun and exciting.
And for the love of crap, make sure you show off the damn vehicles. They're what made the original toyline, they're what made the original cartoon, they are what built the damn franchise.
