>>6851014You can use any translucent resin, though there are store bought options by Woodland Scenics. Very simple, just layer it on bit by bit and then in your final few layers add dye. Darker dye for deeper water. Don't forget to make it totally sealed up, the resin is self levelling and the tiniest gap or hole will ruin it. I learned this the hard way. I used chipboard as my base because it looks like sand under the resin. Mixed with a few rocks it comes out very nicely. You can't see it in those pics but I used actual sawdust in some places for sand, drizzle a bit of resin on it and it turns permanently moist looking. I'd probably recommend forking out for the hobby resin, even though regular resins are quite useable its difficult to guess from the packet how glossy it will be etc. and its basically impossible to undo a mistake.
