I don't dislike your initial idea of a primer red hull with the whole recovery narrative fitted with a henschel tiger II turret, but if you choose the pak add on route I would make sure the mounting looks like it's slapped on (frame of the regular pak cannon but with the wheels removed and the axle used as a pivot with some makeshift soldered support and armor for example.
Also bigger=better so I would recommend a Rheinmetall 12.8cm K44 L/55 or a Krupp 12.8cm Pak44, if you're feeling daring and up to it perhaps a 12.8cm Flak 40 Zwilling might interest you...
But if you want to keep it more ""realistic"" or with smaller proportions a 8.8cm pak 43 or even a 7.5cm pak 40 could look good.
