>>5684446This... This gave me a weird feeling of realization.
I mean, I'm young for a collector, only 18, and I grew up on the Unicron trilogy more than anything, but I watched re-runs of G1 and RID all the time when they aired on this one chanel I forget the name of. I had a lot of figures as a kid but stopped collecting around the second bayformers movie, I lost interest as Animated aired less [fucking crappy UK programming, never even saw any S3 episodes] and didn't even know Prime was a thing. I proceeded to have no interest until I discovered the FoC videogame [and the WFC game that came before it, too] around early 2013, and I grabbed a TF figure for the first time in ages [It was the FoC Magnus, because I also discovered the world of reviews and Vangelus' review of the Mebsuta 3rd party set, also a new concept, had enamored me].
Since then I went on to collect more and more, and I've now got so many, even a Metroplex, a bunch of Masterpieces, and I poured myself into CW for all the figures that were actual combiners, even got some 3P figures like Apollyon and the Boosticus set from X-transbots, and one of the dinobots from Planet X.
Earlier today I was planning to buy Star Saver's MP figure since I just came into enough money to afford it and not starve, but your post hit something inside me and now, I have no want for it. I think you've made me realise my own fatigue from TF collecting, or at least from my impulse purchases. I'd been trying to pick between him, MP Laserwave, maybe trying to get the CW Groove as well, but right now I feel like maybe I should just save up for TR instead, maybe buy a videogame.
Sorry for blogging, this is probably a silly post but, this just struck a cord in me that I think needed to be struck. thanks, man.
