Pandering to America/the West currently means pandering to a select group of very loud retards and their handlers and the result is shit products because the product is secondary to "the message".
Things that pander to China is free of this shit, as necessitated by Chinese law. Regardless of your feelings around that law, the result is that "the message" doesn't exist anymore and the product has to stand on its own again which seems to result in a better product.
Fuck knows, maybe I'm talking out of my arse but I know which sets I have the most fun with.

Make it a Kaiju defence force with a remote controlled vehicle-mech and a kaiju per wave and then fill the other slots up with stuff like, smaller kaiju and defence force stuff that isn't remote controlled. Big set per wave could either be a boss kaiju or a big location build like a mechbay.
