With 11 days to go Hasbro is doing a piss poor job of marketing this thing and just hoping for the final push to limp it across the finish line. The Proton Pack only needed 7k to fund. The Trap/PKE needed 10k. A 1:12 Ecto-1 is easily the least desirable Haslab for the Ghostbusters community, yet it has the highest target of 12k. It never ceases to amaze me how far from the pulse Hasbro is with this stuff. Most Ghostbusters fans are in their 30s and 40s and have moved on from action figures. I've seen countless comments from GB fans around the web saying they have zero interest in anything that isn't a prop, and many are angry about this Haslab taking a slot away from what could have been another prop.
Hasbro stupidly saw the numbers of the last two GB Haslabs and thought this would do just as well despite it being in a completely different category with a different market. The all or nothing 12k target is looking to be the death of this. If it had retained the 10k target of the PKE/Trap I think it would get there with the final push. The 7k target of the Proton Pack and it would have already been funded. Maybe the figures should have been stretch goals so this could have a lower target. Then again, without the guaranteed figures this may only have half the backers it currently does. It's hard to say where exactly this went wrong and what changes could have made it a success, but Hasbro certainly misjudged the interest in this thing and set their goal way too high. The fact that they felt confident about this funding within the first two weeks, and here we are 11 days from close with things looking grim says it all. Hasbro. Pulse? Not even close.
