HLJ is reputable, I got a replacement Birth Driver because when I took it out of the box it already had a couple scratches on it at no cost to me, but with SAL in general, even registered, you're always rolling the dice if the product will reach you in time.
1 monthish is about the normal time for a SAL package to come to your home, 1 month and two weeks is usually the limit before you have to write it off as a loss. Actually losing a package is a rare thing but it happens from time to time. I've been ordering stuff from overseas for years with RSAL and SAL and while stuff takes ages to come in I've never lost a package yet, however it is always a possibility. You need to see if anyone tried to deliver it at your post office at least and follow up on it. Since SAL doesn't have insurance the shipping companies don't owe you anything monetarily and since you didn't order RSAL you have no tracking number either so the most you can really do is ask your postal office to look into it at best.
RSAL is the better choice for you to choose next time you order if you want to save money. It's only ever like $2 more than SAL, you get ¥10,000 worth of insurance and I think if you pay a bit more that can go up to ¥50,000 on top of giving you a tracking number (Which isn't really helpful since you'll usually get your package before it updates that it's even in the country), and while it's still SAL speeds it's much safer. EMS is like double the price but your packages come in like 5 business days, sometimes even the week of ordering. DHL is also an option but for the US at least it's always $20 more than EMS so I never bother, but I assume if you're in Asia or Europe it might be cheaper to go with DHL at times.
