>>6624287>Sarah Robles overcame way more physical, and mental obstacles than that Gabby Douglas girl,You mean Gabby Douglas who has been training in gymnastics since the age of 6, who made the decision at 12 to throw herself into gymnastics training as a career which resulted in her sacrificing a standard childhood, who suffered multiple injuries when she was as young as 13 and 14, forcing her to miss training on essential components of gymnastics for months--but chose to keep training on the bar, causing physical pain but allowing her body to heal because it wasn't as physically strenuous, so that she would be able to keep training for upcoming competitions and qualifications? And who went from being a literal "huh? who is this girl competing for a spot on the Olympic team?" nobody to winning multiple gold medals at the Olympics.
But y'know. Robles has PCOS!! And wrist pain! And took drugs to enhance her performance!
Though I love how you're trying to portray Sarah Robles as some poor struggling martyr when she doesn't have a drastically different career/training background than Douglas. Well, except for the fact that Robles' sole internationally recognized medal awards at age 29 are 1 single bronze Olympic medal. While Douglas has won 3 Gold Olympic medals, 6 gold medals in other internationally recognized championships, 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals in internationally recognized champions by age 21.
Robles also publicly complained about not getting endorsements, when the fact is that most Olympic athletes struggle with money (why do you think many of them end up having to sell their houses and move into the free Olympic dorms?) and only about 1% actually earn enough from endorsements to support themselves without needing outside assistance from family or side jobs. Robles has time to blog and post all her arts/crafts, but she can't find a way to bring in more than $400 a month? Mmmhmm.
