Bandai also did the same thing with Figuarts Garo, which looks almost similar to how Gilgamesh looks (gold paint versus silver paint -> clear gold). If you were to compare mustard gold Garo with the newer Garos that actually have the candy gold paintjobs as advertised, the differences are night and day in-photos and in-hand.
It's not that everyone has high standards for expecting something pretty basic, especially for one of the most costliest Figmas, it's just that you have piss-poor standards. 2chan is also disappointed with how Gilgamesh is turning out.
