>too limited a line to keep going for more than two wavesThere were 4 Warriors of Light(only 3 got figures), secondary characters such as Zara, about 16 different skeletons(many of which didn't get figures), mortal versions of the skeletons and a Dragon. There's also a 13 episode cartoon, a comic mini-series, and a 100 card, trading card set to pull from, as well as a video game. Easily enough characters to do 21 to 30+ figures-- enough to do 7 waves of 4 if they so wished.

The toys probably died, because they came out the same year as Power Rangers, and there were no heroes released until the line was cancelled.
