Between both american and japanese adaptiopns and continuities, both are nothing more than mind rotting toy commercials with little character development with terrible animation, shitty voice work (especially the american one with wrong characters voicing each other's lines) all tied into toys that never looked like the toys they portrayed.
This is why opinions exist, american g1 taught me to love giant robots, and gave me fucking optimus prime who I respect despite not being real (and later his voice actor who I respect in all of his roles), and something to take my mind off my childhood's worse days.
Japanese g1 was my 4th tv series I ever watched, my nostalgia for g1 was so up my ass I couldn't connect to armada, then rid/car robots made me question just what in the fuck was going on, but japanese g1 gave a certain level of context to it, I found japanese g1 didn't bother to hide how much of a toy commercial it was with new characters being pumped in hard and fast (especially in headmasters) yet giving them more screen time than the american "rebirth", admittedly super god masterforce to me was shit only because they amped up the talk about god powers to bullshit levels to the point were I would fall asleep, but victory...
Dude, victory is inspiring shit, if I seen star saber as a kid I would be praising him over optimus prime, and the animation shits all over regular g1 in many ways, at least in direction, and if transformers continued the way victory did who knows what we may see on tv, it bothers me so much the japanese just continue to dub the american versions when clearly they can do some amazing shit too, I mean japanese beast wars and their script changes...airrazor as a guy, HA!
Its clear, we have different opinions, you think mine is shit, I think yours is shit, but in the end, they are opinions, and we have freedom to express them.
